Paul Breuer, SIOR, Celebrates 40 Years with Colliers International

January 13, 2010, PORTLAND, OR – Colliers International-Portland is pleased to congratulate Paul Breuer, SIOR, on 40 years with the company. “I am very pleased to congratulate Paul Breuer on his 40 years of service excellence at Colliers,” remarked Craig Robbins, President of U.S.A. Brokerage Services, Colliers International. “Paul is an invaluable asset to our organization and one of the pre-eminent industrial brokers in the Portland market. His contributions over the past four decades truly embody Colliers’ culture of partnership thinking and delivering exceptional client service. We can always depend on him to go above and beyond what is expected while keeping everyone’s best interests in mind. He has set the standard for all of us and I look forward to continuing to learn from his example.”

Breuer, who is a senior vice president in Colliers’ industrial practice, began his real estate career in 1969 with Bullier & Bullier, a prominent local firm that was acquired by Colliers International in 1996. His team focuses on providing acquisition, disposition, and leasing services to owners and users of industrial space, which has been Breuer’s specialty since he started in the industry. “Back then, a 22' clear height was as high as you could get with a concrete tilt-up building,” recollected Breuer. “Building efficiency has increased significantly since then.” So has the industry’s knowledge. “I’ve become an expert in a wide spectrum of issues that didn’t exist when I started out, from building design trends and structural code to environmental and legal issues.”

When asked about his tenure at Colliers, Breuer lauded the company’s recent shift to a centrally owned and operated model. “It’s great to be part of a company that adapts to the needs of its clients. Colliers’ new model allows us to serve our clients better and still maintain the entrepreneurial values that make this organization special. It’s really the best of both worlds.” He also acknowledges the environment in the local office. “The trust and collaboration among the Portland team is a tremendous asset that benefits our clients and the brokers.”

Breuer was involved in some of the region’s most notable industrial transactions in 2009. From the sale of the E-Tech Building, in which he represented Equastone Evergreen the seller, and the Hansen Building, in which he represented Acumed, the purchaser. He also brought Bybee Lake Logistics Center II in Rivergate to full occupancy, leasing 123,000 SF to Owens Corning.

He attributes his continued success to his clients. “I get great pleasure out of the relationships I’ve built during my career.”

A resident of Portland, Breuer holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Oregon. He also holds the prestigious SIOR designation from the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and served two terms as the President of the SIOR Oregon Chapter. Oregon’s Commercial Association of Realtors (CAR) named him “Industrial Broker of the Year” twice and honored him with Bill Naito award for Creative Transactions three times. Breuer also served as Director and Treasurer of the Portland Board of Realtors.
