After a year of planning, San Diego-based Michael Mazzotta, his twin brother and their father recently ascended Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro on the twins' 30th birthday. On July 11th, 2009, at 6:08 am, with the temperature at a frigid -15°F, they reached the summit at 19,300 ft (5,895 m). Their father made it to an impressive 16,100 ft, besting his personal goal of reaching the Kibo base camp at 15,100 ft.
