Colliers International, a leading commercial real estate services firm, announced today that Solo Cup (www.solocup.com) has just signed a lease for over 600,000 square feet of distribution space in the Grand Prairie, TX, area of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. Chris Teesdale, SIOR and Tom Pearson, SIOR of Colliers Supply Chain Real Estate Advisors in Dallas and David Kahnweiler with the Collier's office in Chicago represented Solo Cup in its search for a newer state of the art building and location.
After a thorough investigation of the market, it became apparent that several options were available to Solo Cup for consideration. Colliers' Supply Chain Real Estate Advisors presented Solo Cup with several first generation, free-standing buildings with modern amenities that offered the ability to grow and meet their future needs. The competitiveness among these options allowed them to take advantage of the market and negotiate a 10 year lease. The selected building is located near the intersection of the new President George Bush Tollway extension and Pioneer Parkway in Grand Prairie, Texas. The building was completed over a year ago and was built to be LEED certified, which it received just prior to signing the lease. This is the first industrial building to achieve silver LEED certification for Core and Shell in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
