Edmonton Proper’s overall office vacancy rate decreased 0.30% from the second quarter to 3.51% in the third quarter. In the Downtown District (Financial & Government) alone, over 780,000 square feet is either under construction or under redevelopment. The Financial District is comprised of 45 buildings and posted a vacancy rate of 3.37 percent, down from 3.99 percent in the second quarter. The Government District is represented by 38 buildings and reported a slight increase in vacancy for the third quarter, 5.14 percent up from 4.65 percent from the previous quarter.
