Recovery from the recession is expected to show slow or modest growth by the end of the year. The first six months of 2009 were sluggish in the office sector; however, new downtown construction should stimulate office leasing activity by the end of the year. The office vacancy rate is 9.5%.
Industrial construction is on-going with two new multi-tenant facilities opening this quarter. Other new buildings and a larger sample size increased inventory by 122,000 square feet during the first half of 2009. The industrial vacancy rate is 6.1%.
