The San Francisco office market exhibited mixed health
indicators over third quarter. Leasing
activity slowed from the brisk pace experienced over the last few years.
Leasing transactions totalled 1,078,205 square feet, a significant drop
from the 1,966,222 square feet posted in second quarter and 1,778,987 square
feet posted in the first quarter. However, the number of transactions that
transpired over the quarter stayed on par, recording 136, which reduced
the average size tenant
to 7,928 square feet, down from second quarter’s average of 14,787 square
feet.
