2006 was a significant turning point for the Edmonton office market due to a combination of positive influences. Vacancy is now one of the lowest in the nation, which is a remarkable turnaround from the mid-1990s when vacancy rates were higher than any other major city. Due to increasing demand for office space and limited new supply, the citywide vacancy rate should drop below 5% in 2007. For a more in depth look at the state of Edmonton's office market, and a detailed submarket analysis please see the complete Edmonton report attached.
